Niyati Ramachandran is a costume designer and artist currently based in Los Angeles, pursuing a BFA in Experience Design and Production at CalArts. Having learned and worked across India and the US, her artistic vision is shaped by a diasporic upbringing and a deep engagement with culture, identity, and place.
Working across film, theatre, dance, and live performance, her costume designs emphasize rich color, textile, and material exploration. Her other work includes creative direction, mixed-media collage, and fashion design. She is passionate about community-centered design, forming meaningful relationships, and leading with thoughtful representation.
